Roads and Bridges

leave a comment »

Politicians and the news media keep saying the roads and bridges need updating, repairs and replacements.

Trump has endorsed an increase in the gas tax for this.

Yes, some roads and bridges need maintenance.

An increase in the gas tax is not the answer.

The solution is simple.

Improve the efficiency, efficacy and cost benefit of the spending of gas tax revenues.

There is more than enough gas tax revenue to take care of all road and bridge maintenance.

With the appropriate improvements in the spending of gas tax revenues, gas tax rates could be substantially reduced.

But it will never happen.

It would mean a shift of money and power from politicians and government workers to citizens.

Citizens need to become involved in their government.

They should demand bridges and road be maintained and a reduction in the gas tax rate.

Force corrupt and incompetent politicians to manage the nation better.

Economic Disaster Continues

with one comment

Some astounding figures:

1 out of every 2 Americans receives government benefits
45.6 million of those (15%) are on Food Stamps
The actual unemployment rate is 23%, accounting for 18.6 million Americans
Out of 100 Americans, half cannot come up with $400 without borrowing or selling something

There are currently 30 million unemployed or severely underemployed Americans and I doubt that many of them are celebrating the drop in the unemployment rate.

These numbers are somewhat out-of-date; the latest numbers would be worse.

Soon, you will be joining these groups.

How is that going to work for you?

Unless you are already in them.

Reflecting on Freedom

Just about everyone claims to be in favor of freedom. But few seem to agree on what it means.

One person’s idea of freedom can actually violate another person’s freedom. To one person, it means doing what he wants with his own life. To another, it means doing what he wants with other people’s lives. Both say that the other one’s concept of freedom is tyranny.

To the laissez-faire businessman, freedom means an end to all government regulation. To the communist, freedom can be achieved only when individual incentive has been crushed and “the people” own everything. (Are you starting to feel uncomfortable?)

Some people believe that job quotas for minority groups promote freedom. But to a person who is truly anti-discriminatory, quotas are a violation of freedom.

Throughout history, men have miscommunicated on this subject. Since conservatives, liberals, fascists, communists — and every other group — all claim to be in favor of freedom, they cannot be talking about the same thing.

The dictionary defines freedom as “being free.” In turn, free is defined as “not under the control or power of another.” How can there be so much confusion over a definition so clearly stated?

Utopian thinkers have always confused freedom with equality. But nothing could be more incorrect. Nature has made freedom and equality totally incompatible. “Freedom and equality,” wrote Will and Ariel Durant, “are sworn and everlasting enemies, and when one prevails the other dies.”

When most people talk about freedom, they tend to think in terms of freedom for themselves. They see freedom as a license to do as they please. Thus, you may be surprised to find that when people espouse freedom, often they are referring to their freedom, not yours. Worse, you are likely to discover that their freedom necessitates the violation of your freedom.

The only way freedom can be rationally viewed is as the freedom for each individual to do as he pleases, so long as he does not commit aggression against anyone else.

Presidential candidates love to talk about freedom, even while telling us how they intend to further limit our freedoms. They do this by manufacturing “rights” out of thin air. The last batch of candidates was especially bold in this respect.

The problem is that all artificially created rights are anti-freedom. Because in order to fulfill one person’s rights, another person’s must be violated.

At the heart of such thinking is what I call GAVEC. (That stands for guiltism, angerism, villainism, envyism, and covetism.) People suffering from GAVEC are usually unable to achieve success in a free society. Thus they yearn for an external force (government) to “level the playing field” and equalize results.

True freedom means freedom for the “poor,” the “rich,” the “handicapped,” the “oppressed,” the “weak,” and the “strong.” Simply put, it means freedom for everyone.

Think about this as candidates start to step up their promises to fulfill artificially created rights. Everything in life has a price. And, make no mistake about it, the price of artificially created rights is the exchange of your rights for someone else’s.

Look in the mirror and ask yourself, “Is that what I really want — for me or my children?” I would hope not.

Few people are going to agree with the above essay.  The reasons were explained in the essay; but all of the reasons equate to selfishness and thus EVIL.

This is what is wrong with ALL other political parties.

Most people believe that anyone that lives in or is from the United States is an American.  WRONG!  Many of the people that live in the United States are NOT Real Americans.  They do NOT have the values of Americans(this means they are NOT Real Americans).

For the rest of this post; American(s) will be used to designate Real American(s).

American values are based upon fairness to ALL.  This means that the results are not to be manipulated.  Basic example:  children are playing and Suzy always wins.  As long as she is not cheating; then that is it, do not change the rules or help any of the other children.  It is a fact of life; people do not have equal abilities, so some people will lose out.  The results may not be nice, but to help someone or some group means to steal from someone else or from another group.  And this is EVIL.  And once it starts, it never ends;  first this group is helped, then that group is helped, and finally almost everybody is being helped.  But to help these groups, another group has to pay the price.  The only way to keep helping more and more groups is through CORRUPTION and even more CORRUPTION.

For society, people and nations to evolve and grow, there must be standards, rule of law, and fairness for ALL.

The laws must protect everybody EQUALLY; this does NOT mean economic equality.

This is the backbone of making anything GREAT.

And, yes, some will lose out; this is a fact of nature.

To override nature means totally destroying everything good in the world.

Another though on “America”:

“On August 10, 1948, at a homecoming on his 74th birthday at West Branch, Iowa, his birthplace, former President Herbert Hoover gave as good an answer as we are likely to get:

“The meaning of our word ‘America’ flows from one pure source. Within the soul of America is freedom of mind and spirit in man. Here alone are the open windows through which pour the sunlight of the human spirit. Here alone is human dignity not a dream, but an accomplishment. Perhaps it is not perfect, but it is more full in realization here than any other place in the world.””

Dying Slowly And Painfully

leave a comment »

You all know the story about the frog in cold water that gradually heats up until the poor, inattentive critter is cooked.

For millions of Americans suffering from that boiled-frog feeling, there is hope.

There is a difference between the frog and Americans; the  frog never feels the pain as he slowly cooks, Americans know they are being roasted and feel every degree in heat increase.

Many Americans turn to one political party or the other as their savior.  But any intelligent student of history knows that  both parties care nothing about the nations citizens.

It is about having the life that the founding fathers envisioned for all Americans.

Forget hope, have certainty; join The New Political Party.

Politics Make Us Worse

leave a comment »

And it does.

If politics makes us worse, why would we ever want more politics?

Because people want to control others for their own perceived betterment.  Pure selfishness.

By limiting the sphere of politics—by restricting the range of decisions made through the political process—we create not only a healthier and wealthier world, but also a more civil one.

But not everyone sees it this way.  Individual decisions, especially those made in a market context, get framed not as autonomous choices, but as coerced, undesired outcomes of giving “them” (the rich, the corporations, and so on) too much power.

It is the difference between good and evil.  Evil people want to control others; good people want everyone to be free to make their own choices.

This party is not about controlling others; it is about fairness to all and guiding the nation through intelligence.  It will restore America to greatness.  This can be achieved.
